Book for Next Month
If you ladies , the few of us still here, want to continue with a book a month and maybe a reread, I'd be completely willing to put together a poll. If you post some book suggestion I'll put together a list, we can vote on them and decide what we want to do.

Let me know what you guys want :)

Another poll for sure.

I'm all for a poll. If you're looking for nominees, may I suggest Alan Brennert's Moloka'i? I loved Honolulu, which is another book of his that takes place in Hawaii.

I'd thrown out a bunch of suggestions in one of the posts made by the (previous?) mod :) I still need to read Dogs of Babel though. I've hesitated because of what was going on with the club. Are you thinking of making a new community?

We've kind of been having the discussions in this community, but if you guys want a new one we could do it easily.

I have a general suggestion/question.
I may have totally missed this post, so just ignore me if I was oblivious. Anyway, I didn't see a post actually defining the current book, since I didn't check back on the poll post since it was bumped way down on my friends list. Could there be an announcement post, maybe with a general schedule of how quickly we're supposed to be reading the book? Again, if I missed a post that was similar to this, sorry to bother. :)

Yeah, there was no actual announcement because the mod went MIA. A lot of people were upset so we decided to just go ahead and start with Dogs of Babel since it was the winner of the poll. For next time there will be a general announcement for sure and a schedule (It hink we're going to do one book a month and one reread at the same time).
Thanks for bringing this up, it needed to be explained :)

I would like to continue with a book a month and even a reread a month. I would like to see another poll to vote on a book. I would like to make a couple of suggestions from my list of books that I want to read. "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood, "Red Clay, Blue Cadillac: Stories of Twelve Southern Women" by Michael Malone, and "Bloodsucking Fiends: A Love Story" by Christopher Moore. I was also interested in a book from the last poll, "Territory" by Emma Bull.

Already added them to the list :)

I'm suggesting The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion.
I never got the last book because I was confused about no announcement post, but I definitely want to participate.

I like the idea of the reread, so maybe after the list is made you post it so people can tell what books they're read?
I would like though if rather than the person in charge just pick the reread (like last time) that it gets voted on.

I will definitely post the list up in a couple of days. I want to get a good amount of books down. So, let's say around Monday night or Tuesday morning I'll put it up for everyone to tell me whicho ones they've read before. After that, I'll separate the ones that at least two people have read and I'll set up two different polls. One for the regular book of the month, and one for the reread. I agree that it was unfair for someone to just decide what the reread was going to be without a vote.

I just added the Year of Magical Thinking to the list.
